Mission Statement
Putting the People We Support at the Centre of Everything We Do
Being person-centred means really getting to know each person — what matters to them, how they want to live, and what support helps them thrive. We respect that everyone is unique, with their own voice, choices, and goals, and we build strong, trusting relationships, working together with the person, their family, and others, to plan support that fits them, not the other way around. We look at the whole person, not just their needs or diagnosis, and we keep listening, learning, and improving to make sure the care and support we offer stays right for them.
How we work
What We Stand For
- Kind, compassionate and empathetic — leading with warmth in everything we do
- Honest, trustworthy and reliable — people can depend on us
- Respectful — of every person’s dignity, voice, and choices
- Courageous and principled — doing the right thing, even when it’s hard
- Focused on the whole person — never just their needs or diagnosis
- Flexible, open, and always learning — support that evolves with the person
- Proud and positive — about the difference we make every day
Where it comes from
Rooted in Sector-Wide Best Practice
Our values reflect the government’s People at the Heart of Care strategy, published in December 2021, which set out a 10-year vision for the adult social care workforce to be recognised as the skilled, professional workforce it is. They also draw on the universal values developed by Think Local Act Personal (TLAP), working directly with people who draw on care and support, to help us achieve:
- Excellence — meeting our challenge to be a high-performing organisation
- Caring — treating everyone with dignity and respect
- Integrity — demonstrating our passion for doing the right thing
- Teamwork — enabling us to be the best we can be
